The MORE that you READ, the more THINGS you will KNOW.  The MORE you LEARN, the more PLACES you’ll GO!” – Dr Seuss

  1. Den building It has been an amazing term so far and the children have worked incredibly hard.  We are learning about the Mayan civilisation which was undiscovered until the 1800s deep in the rainforests of South America.  The children have had a fun time building dens in various locations to reflect choices for settlements. We got them to hide in when they were complete while we tested them by pouring water on them.  Some were very good shelters…others not so good and we had very wet children! A lot of fun was had by all.

There was a visit from a theatre workshop which had the children getting into character roles to act out some of the daily life activities of The Mayan people.  We have some very talented actors/actresses in our class.   We are making Mayan masks over the next few weeks, so watch this space for the finished results! They are looking good so far.Den building
